Original story
You're allowed to feel however you want about what happened to you and who did this to you. We live in a world a skewed power dynamics and we get shamed for pointing them out. Never let them silence you.
Funny enough, exploring sexual subjects in art helps me. (Especially pairing it with horror.) I've been mulling over how to portray healthy sexuality in the wake of rampant violent, misogynistic pornography and it's been tough. But exploring my own life experience is helping. It's cutting through the mental fog that blocks the worst moments in my life.
There were many times I was touched inappropriately and many other times I just had to sit there and take it. Pretransition, I had my puberty very early so my breasts developed faster and bigger than others. This caused adults to treat me like a teenager when I was just turning ten for one. On top of that, older men would ogle me at the mall. I remember a particular occasion in class where a male student want to 'play a game' we were basically slapping each other for fun with our folders until his hand slipped between my legs. Thankfully the counselor was there after but it was the first time I laughed off something so horrible; I had no idea how much it would affect me later. Another time an older female student slapped my butt in daycare. I was actually uncomfortable here but it happened so fast I just laughed as I tried to get away from her. She chased me and kept hitting me until my mom walked in. I just knew way too much about sex at that age and nothing about consent. I was also exposed to pornography at the same time and a friend was too. Neither of us realized the ramifications of it and we both ended up worse for it. It took forever to get to a place where either of us had boundaries and while she's fine with crass sexual jokes they would actively trigger me because of my experiences. I assumed she would be third in line to sexually abuse me so I would act overly submissive to her to keep her placated. It was only in my twenties that we discussed how it made us feel. That protective attitude drove us apart and it's still taking effort to reconnect. I just wish I didn't have to say this anonymously because the amount of people who go through nothing at all that call you the pedophile for remembering what happened to you is horrible to me. The way people casually throw around Epstein, P Diddy and other sexual abusers for fun just makes me want to shut my mouth more. Because child sexual abuse is a joke to these people. I want to change that so nobody ends up like me, still dealing with shame, hypersexuality and mental breakdowns.
You have a comment in progress, are you sure you want to discard it?

Grounding activity
Find a comfortable place to sit. Gently close your eyes and take a couple of deep breaths - in through your nose (count to 3), out through your mouth (count of 3). Now open your eyes and look around you. Name the following out loud:
5 – things you can see (you can look within the room and out of the window)
4 – things you can feel (what is in front of you that you can touch?)
3 – things you can hear
2 – things you can smell
1 – thing you like about yourself.
Take a deep breath to end.
From where you are sitting, look around for things that have a texture or are nice or interesting to look at.
Hold an object in your hand and bring your full focus to it. Look at where shadows fall on parts of it or maybe where there are shapes that form within the object. Feel how heavy or light it is in your hand and what the surface texture feels like under your fingers (This can also be done with a pet if you have one).
Take a deep breath to end.
Ask yourself the following questions and answer them out loud:
1. Where am I?
2. What day of the week is today?
3. What is today’s date?
4. What is the current month?
5. What is the current year?
6. How old am I?
7. What season is it?
Take a deep breath to end.
Put your right hand palm down on your left shoulder. Put your left hand palm down on your right shoulder. Choose a sentence that will strengthen you. For example: “I am powerful.” Say the sentence out loud first and pat your right hand on your left shoulder, then your left hand on your right shoulder.
Alternate the patting. Do ten pats altogether, five on each side, each time repeating your sentences aloud.
Take a deep breath to end.
Cross your arms in front of you and draw them towards your chest. With your right hand, hold your left upper arm. With your left hand, hold your right upper arm. Squeeze gently, and pull your arms inwards. Hold the squeeze for a little while, finding the right amount of squeeze for you in this moment. Hold the tension and release. Then squeeze for a little while again and release. Stay like that for a moment.
Take a deep breath to end.
