What happened to you is horrible and it shouldn't have. But nor I or you can take it back. You can never be the same person as you were before and it's something that you need to learn to accept. But don't let what happened to you define you. Revenge is a life well lived, remember that. Used what happened to you as a power, do not let it stop you. You can do it, use it as a strength. If you got through this you can get through anything. So go to therapy, take care of yourself, get your life on track and move foreword. I believe in you.

Healing to me means choosing to dedicate the rest of my life to this issue. I am going to make him pay, I am going to make the camp pay. And then I will continue to fight, to make the punishment for people like him harsher in my country, to protect victims and their rights. I am not going to let what happened to me be forgotten. It was horrible, but I am going to use that as motivation to change how current things are.
I was raped at a summer camp. The camp knew that he was above the age limit of the camp (he was over 25), and they knew that he is a pedophile and they still let him come back. They are as much at fault for him raping me as he is. But the camp is still operating and that man is still living his best life, like nothing happened. It's been almost 2 years and the police investigation is still ongoing, but it's safe to say nothing will come out of it. The police told me they don't believe me when I first made my complaint the day after the rape. And they still don't. I am so done with it. He made me see things I can never forget. Therapy isn't helping, my therapist is calling what I have 'complex PTSD'. Which in other words mean my whole view of the world is fucked. I cannot trust anyone. Because so many people let what happened to me happen, because they didn't do a single thing about it.
