Resources Survivor Q & AOriginal Story
If you are dealing with repressed memories, you may feel as though your trauma is invalid or question if you made it up. I'm telling you right now, your trauma is valid, and what happened to you IS real. I know that's also a scary thought, but it's the first step to working through it and you are so strong for even being on this website.
I started therapy a few months ago and was diagnosed with PTSD as a result of childhood sexual abuse and online no-contact sexual exploitation. I want to recover the full memory of the experience so that I can work through how to cope with my flashbacks, but the idea of remembering exactly what happened to me is scary, I guess.
